Intro
Kiran and Tom's unique and relaxed Oxford wedding was certainly one to remember. As a result, it's a wedding that
David Wedding Photography is very happy to share. .
Author,
Kiran Millwood Hargrave married her artist fiance,
Tom De Freston at the stunning Bodleian Library. The main research library at the University of Oxford, in a rare and stunning wedding celebration. Marriage is only permitted in this building if the bride and groom are both alumni of the university.
Morning
Bridal preparations began at
The Old Bank Hotel in Oxford centre. A 5 star venue for Kiran to look her absolute best for her impending wedding. There were plenty of happy tears when the bride-to-be presented herself to her bridesmaids and father.
It was a short walk from the hotel to the Bodleian Library. A stunning setting for photographs, with the famous Oxford University architecture gracing the landscape. There were clear nerves on Kiran's face as she walked, arms linked, with her dad. In addition, there was a visible eagerness to see Tom and finally tie the knot.
Ceremony
The ceremony was as stunning as expected. A romantic spectacle in a world famous venue. There was laughter, tears and infinite love - between the couple and their onlooking guests.
After the ceremony, photographs were captured in the iconic courtyard. After that we walked through the historic city with the newly weds. Moreover, this was a time to reflect on what had just happened and take some relaxed and unposed photographs along the way. We took our time to allow the wedding guests to gather at
Freud. This was the location of their wedding reception. An eccentric, converted chapel, with raw floors and walls. A real blank canvas, and the perfect arty location for such a creative couple.
Reception
There was an enormous confetti thrown at the point of Kiran and Tom's arrival and this was followed by a moth watering, North African banquet and some heart felt speeches. A live band entertained the guests throughout the evening, and provided a lively atmosphere to keep the dance floor rocking.
This really was a truly unique and relaxed oxford wedding. It was a true honour to capture, and I'm very happy to share some images from it. Please do not hesitate to
